Distance Education College – How One Can Help You

One of the best things you can do if you want to study further and you have been out of school for a while is to register with a distance education college. This will give you the opportunity to complete the degree that you have always dreamed of, but that you have never been able to for various reasons.

You may or may not know this, but distance education has many faces, meaning that there are many form of distance education. There are also Distance Colleges that operate solely online, which means that you can enroll no matter where you live. You will also find that the college just around the corner from you will offer a distance learning program too. If you join a distance learning program, it means that you do not need to go in to any of the lectures if you do not want. This means that you have more time to do the other important things in your life.

With online colleges you can have all the resources and information online and study via the internet. Instead of receiving your books and notes in the mail, you will be able to download them or get them sent to you via an online file system. With the course materials you can get you will be able to study a lot of different things.

Distance education means that you will study from a distance. You do not need to come into classes or lecture which is the main benefit. You can study whenever you like and you can study as often as you like. If you already have a job somewhere, this kind of degree is perfect because you can study on weekends or at night, or whenever you like. You can even just study one hour a day if you want. Once you have your degree you can easily leave your current job for a better one using your new qualification.

One of the other great things about doing it all online is that you do not pay the normal monthly fees – it is all a lot cheaper to study away from the campus – if the school has one.

With distance or online education you have the chance to get your life in order the way you want to. You can study once you leave school and be able to work at the same time. You can also study even though you might have left school years ago.

With a distance education college you can easily make your life better and have the chance to get a degree that you have always wanted.

Online Cheating a Big Problem?


One of the clouds appearing on the horizon for online universities is The College Opportunity and Affordability Act signed by President Bush late in 2008. This new law requires universities to authenticate test takers taking online courses through costly identification technology or with exam proctors.


The federal Education Department is expected to release guidelines for implementing this new law in the months ahead so the new law can be made effective later this year or early 2010. They say the “devil is in the details,” but on the surface this provision of the new law seems to provide uncertain benefits combined with certain increases in costs for online universities – and ultimately their students.

Why Online Students Stop Studying


November 2008, Education Dynamics conducted a survey of 150 online students who discontinued their effort to earn an online degree or certificate program. Perhaps the most surprising result was the finding that almost half of the online students surveyed failed to complete their first course.
